Raisio 2025
In 2002 the Raisio 2025 project started with a series of development studies. The work included studies on Raisio's history, urban development and future prospects. The Raisio 2025 report received a positive response from politicians and the work now continues on more detailed urban planning. This phase includes a re-evaluation of the traffic systems, studies on the new image of the city, urban models, creating architectural guidelines for the new center and creating visualizations of the future.
How can the balance between the city, the life and people in it, and the increasing power of traffic be maintained? The slogan has been: Let's give the space back to the people. The Raisio 2025 team is studying the identity of Raisio, looking for the memory of the place. They have succeeded in making a dream come true. The old mail road from Stockholm via Raisio to Russia is soon to be reinstated.
